We Made It!!!

Whew! I am happy to report that we made it through the ooooh so diabolical vacation with minimal damage and virtually no scarring! Yes, there were a few bumps along the way and I was brought to my knees at the thought of what a spoiled rotten brat I can be. The paper towel folly was at the rear end of the vacation and the worst of it--but...all in all it was pretty darn good in my book!It is amazing all the opportunities that God gives us to teach us lessons and train us to be all that He created us to be. I am so very thankful that He loves me enough to allow obstacles and difficult seasons in order to make me a better version of me!Sadly, the poor man got sick Friday and was sick for the last weekend of his vacation. He was just miserable. He did manage to do the few things we had planned, however, most of his waking hours were spent sleeping. I think it was God's grace that let Him get sick...LOL! Another couple days of him 24/7 may have brought on another Dark Phoenix type storm...His Word provided me with strength on the journey: Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, does not faint or grow weary; there is no searching of His understanding. He gives power to the faint and weary, and to him who has no might He increases strength [causing it to multiply and making it to abound]. Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall feebly stumble and fall exhausted; But those who wait … [Read more...]

Paper Towel Folly

Crazy how fast things can go down hill...It all started over some paper towels...Yes, paper towels! Isn't it amazing how simple things can wind up far bigger than they should? If you would have asked me a few days ago if paper towels could cause such passionate fury in me, I would have thought you insane! *sigh* Alas, as I write this post, I am quite familiar with the power of the paper towel!Let me explain...I sent my beloved husband to the store to buy three items. He was to bring home a rotisserie chicken, toilet paper and the ever anger inducing paper towels!!What is so 'fight worthy' about paper towels, you ask???Well, the man brought home the wrong kind. The kind I detest. Yes, you really can have a strong dislike for a paper towel...I have bought the SAME paper towels for YEARS! I like them. They are cheap and they work the way they are supposed to!I am not sure what about this err in judgement by my beloved caused me to become quite so passionate, however, I somehow managed to put far too much stock into these former trees!I am not proud to say that I had a bit of a hissy fit, and made it clear that I was NOT in any way shape or form happy with his paper towel folly! He tried to explain that they were on sale and he thought it was a better deal. I did not care about his reasons, I only cared about the fact that I now had EIGHT rolls of these detestable paper towels to go through!I was pissed!I even almost cried when I tore one off and … [Read more...]

The Man Irritates Me…

If you have been reading recently, then you know I am in the middle of a vacation of sorts...It has been challenging to say the least. God is good though, and giving me the strength I need to get through this...Yes, I am indeed referring to our vacation. LOL! As I mentioned in previous posts, we have to remain home for this vacation because of the lack of funds. Being home makes it easier to become irritated with his ways...So, I am admitting to you now: The Man Irritates Me... We do not see things quite the same way and when you throw kids into the mix, well, you are most likely to encounter some sort of friction. If you knew me and were a close friend, you would know that I am a no-nonsense, straight-forward woman who does not take crap. You would also know that I will tell you like it is--if needed. It can be a GREAT quality in a friend. My friends have told me how much they love me and my 'refreshing' personality. Unfortunately, this is not a good quality in a wife...Many times, when my husband provokes me, I have had to tell my beloved husband where he can put it...if you know what I mean. ;) Sadly, it has only made things worse and damages any progress made in the relationship.Thankfully, I am taking a new--GOD inspired approach! :)Can you guess what it is???It's called shutting my mouth.Yes, shutting up.Keeping quiet.Zipping the lips. In a multitude of words transgression is not lacking, but he who restrains his lips is … [Read more...]
