If you have been reading this blog for any length of time, then I am sure you may have stumbled across my "Great Laundry Debate" post. I share a little bit of our laundry fiasco in it. However, that is just the tip of the iceberg, my dear friends. Our most recent battle is one for the books...er...comic books! Let me explain... By now, you MUST know that I married a very picky particular man. He is an awesome husband and father, however, he is a bit of a pain in the rear at times...LOL!OK, so the current issue is his work outfit ensemble.Ladies, we are talking about a dirty, stained shirt, shorts, socks and a bandana. He works outside with no uniform--just his own old work clothes. You would think it would be a simple process: wash the clothes, fold them in his anal retentive way, then put together a shirt, shorts, socks and bandana that looks right together.Um, that would be a resounding no.Not only does he have specific shirts that go with specific shorts and the matching bandana, he also has another quirk...They must be placed in a stack in order of preference.Yeah, I know.I could deck him every laundry day.I am a very busy homeschooling, work at home Mom with a plate so full it would make the average person go into convulsions just thinking about it!All day long it's: Mommy... I have to do two separate loads of work clothes JUST for hubbie. What's the big deal, you ask? Well, he is a picky man who wants everything just so.Honestly, there are days I want to tell him to go jump off something, or maybe even deck him. Thankfully, I have not done the latter. LOL! Anyway, there is a 50/50 chance a one sided fight will ensue when I do his work laundry. One sided because he is willing to do it himself (even though he has no time and prefers me to do it...and I have actually heard God TELL me to go do my husband's laundry...er...but that's a whole other post...), but I insist on doing it and then get aggravated that I have to do it HIS way.Why can't the man just let me do it like I do all the other laundry?? Well, honestly, all that does not matter. This post is about MY attitude in the role of helper. You see, when God told Eve she would want her husband's role, He knew just how serious a punishment He was dolling out. She was no longer going to be in charge. She was going to have to stop preferring her way and prefer her husband.Yuck!Blech! Thanks a LOT, Eve!!!! After I have my mental hissy fit and get over myself...My loving Father reminds me of how AMAZING my role is, and how complaining only devalues my position in my husband's life. Sure, he's anal and picky--but he also works two jobs so … [Read more...]
